Dry gas seals are mechanical face seals consisting of rotating and stationary rings. During operation, grooves in the rotating ring separate from the stationary ring, creating a gap between the seals. Dry gas (such as nitrogen) is injected into the seal, providing the working fluid to seal between outside gases and internal process gases.
