Electrical Assembler A
Location:

Description:
BAUER COMPRESSORS INC. is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Assembler A at its Norfolk, VA plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in electrical panel layouts and production
- Responsible for meeting standard times set for the area
- Install and connect electrical components such as transformers, terminal boards, transistors, etc, following a blueprint
- Build wiring harnesses to required specifications
- Completes technical product reports; reports on product problems encountered.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Related college courses a plus.
- Two years experience in electrical assembly field, a must
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Must possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of PLC logic and controls a must
- Must be computer proficient
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems
- Wire harness and CAD experience a must
- Ability and willingness to work in a constantly changing environment
Work Environment:
Normal hours are from 6:00am to 4:30pm four days a week. Every-other weekend is a four-day weekend (where the plant is closed on Friday and Monday every-other week). Smoking is allowed in some designated areas. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dba.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance with lifting.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Description:
BAUER,a world leadr in the field of high pressure compressor systems, is in search of a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Norfolk, VA based manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Involved in all aspects of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering throughout the organization, including support for planning, warehousing, fabrication and assembly operations
- Oversees the evolution of existing processes to improve productivity, process repeatability, cycle time and cost reductions
- Leads manufacturing efforts to develop new or more economical manufacturing technologies
- Provides daily leadership, management, and guidance to support staff
- Works with staff in the development of programs to assure that new designs can be manufactured cost effectively, including contributing input to designs for manufacturability, overseeing the pilot production of new products and assisting with development of manufacturing related inputs to new product teams
- Oversees the implementation of production safety standards and safety programs. Maintains awareness of regulatory, OSHA and compliance issues
- Oversees the compliance with DEQ, EPA, HRSD and other regulatory agencies. Ensures all required permits and reports are up to date and compliant
- In combination with operations management, analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, equipment layout, workspace for maximum efficiency
- Develops and maintains the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year capital investment plan in conjunction with management team. Develops payback calculations and justification for investment program
- Oversees and administers the Preventive Maintenance program to ensure maximum machine availability and maximum efficiency of all facilities
- Oversees the CNC programming functions for automated equipment ensuring maximum utilization of resources
- Manages multiple, parallel projects using proven project planning techniques
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with shop associates, Purchasing personnel, Planners, Quality Management, Production Management and Senior management
- Active listening skills
- Self starter, self motivated with the ability to work in an independent environment with minimal supervision
- Creative thinker who takes initiative
Computer Skills:
- Cad Skills required, Autodesk product
- Understanding of CNC programming and requirements
- ERP experience
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, internet and e-mail
Organizational Skills:
- Must be able to efficiently and effectively delegate assignments to appropriate personnel
- Manage own objectives and assignments
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Able to accept responsibility for department’s results
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field is required- BSME or BSIE preferred
- 5-7 years engineering experience
- Demonstrated management skills required in either a supervisory or managerial role
- Lean Manufacturing and or Six Sigma experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fabrication and Assembly processes
Work Environment:
