This information bulletin affects - Nitrogen Control Units NCU1/ NCU2

Overview

The nitrogen control units are offered in two voltage configurations, 120 Volt 60Hz and 220 Volt 50 Hz. The purpose of this bulletin is to describe the physical connections on the unit that differentiate between the two supply types.

Note: Bauer nitrogen control units are capable of operating on both voltage supplies however both upper and lower unit modules must be converted in order for proper operation to occur.

Body

The nitrogen control unit consists of two distinct modules/ the upper programming module and the lower operational module. Power is connected to the upper module at its power supply in the rear of the cabinet. This power supply feed the programming module and its voltage setting is controlled by the 115/220 switch found directly above the power cable connector.

The main power feed for the system passes directly through the programming module power supply, is connected to the main on/off switch on the front of the unit and is then passed back into the supply for the generation of the 12V and 5V for the various upper module components. At the on/off switch, main supply power is tapped off and wired down the control transformer for the lower operational module.

This lower power supply must also be set for the correct voltage supply by means off the physical transformer tap connections on said supply. The appropriate connections are as follows:

If the power supplied to the unit does not match the above settings the transformer can be reconnected as listed below:
